World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a way to boost the stats of an item upgrader kit. Based on the type of upgrade, it may raise an item's Mark level or Rarity, as well as boost other stats.

The process of upgrading gear in The War Within requires a certain number of Flightstones and Crests Each item comes with an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the price of the next item by a certain amount.

Item Level

When an item is upgraded, its base stats increase in value. This is the sum of all the leveled up perks (attack magic attack, attack defense). Upgrades can be costly, dependent on who you employ and what you do. This is due to the fact that many perks must be replaced to allow the item to be upgraded.

It can also be used as a gating requirement while queueing for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It also serves to limit the amount of PvP gear players can use since PvP is not available at lower levels. Players can see their average level of items on their character sheet.

When deciding to purchase or sell equipment, players can compare the level of an item. It's a measure of the item's condition and quality. Comparing items in the inventory of a seller is possible using the item level.

On PC, you can see the level of the item by pressing ALT or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will display the full item description, including its level. You can also find it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel in chat.

There are many theories about the method by which the level of an item is determined. One theory is that the item level is a numerical value derived from a formula that determines how much an item's stats are worth. It is based on the fact that different advantages are valued differently and that gems in the sockets increase the value of the item. This process can result in a calculated value for the item's ilvl, which is typically close to the actual Blizzard item level.

However, this isn't the only factor which can affect an item's ilvl since the size of the area the item dropped in can change the value of its stats, such as by adding an additional level to its haste or crit rating. This means that items dropped at higher levels will have higher ilvl than those from lower-level instances.

Item Stats

Item stats can make or break an item for players. The game utilizes them in various ways to encourage players not to limit themselves to one weapon, and to encourage players to explore other weapons. The base stats of a weapon are increased by the weapon's stat modification, which are themselves enhanced by the player's level.

The upgrades to items add by boosting certain stats on the item. The rarity of an item determines its upgrade cost. An item that is white or grey, for example, will only be upgraded once however, items with rare tiers can be upgraded several times at more expensive costs.

Another method to alter the stats of an item is through affixes. They are stat boosts which can be added by the player to an item. Affixes can provide the item extra damage, or add a unique ability to the item (such as reviving the dead or reducing the cooldowns), or make the item unique by giving a special name to the item.

Presently, all affixes are able to be rerolled by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button using circling arrows. This process will cost the player a specific amount of gold and items, which can be used to add to the upgrade gauge in the same way as other rerolling options.

Players can upgrade an Best item upgrader to specific stats or reroll affixes. The stat ranges are determined by the item's level. However each item upgrade will have at least one stat in that range unless they are a unique item or a God Roll from a raid boss.

This is another thing that could be altered by adding the option to upgrade the equipment without having to reroll the affixes, or selecting which stats to increase. But as with base equipment, this would have to be carried out on a per-item level, and the interface for item comparison would not display all the possible stats gained or lost at once.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player can increase the chance of finding items as well as the properties created by loot and the intensity of these properties. It does not, however directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It simply gives the player a chance to upgrade their equipment earlier in the game and is thus more useful in the early game than in later ones, because most players value greater weapon scaling and defense over damage gains.

Luck can also boost the chances of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith’s overall chance of upgrading that increase with each new level of item. They can also be enhanced by using anti-materials, such as a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields, and weapons have an initial Luck value of 40. These items can be enhanced with golden ingots or spined leather (depending on their material type) to add another 40 luck, or to increase the luck of the item to 140.

Certain items, such as the Hollow-infused weapon, can also be equipped to increase the damage dealt by any skill that deals damage by 5percent. These items are available from the shop, or they can be made using the correct ingredients.

Item Failure

Item upgrades are a costly process and not all upgrades will be successful. Cash shop items can be used to boost the success rate of an upgrade or to stop players from losing their item in the event that it does not work.

When you upgrade an item the success rate is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage indicates the probability of successfully upgrading an item. This can be increased by using Additional Materials or Special materials. The chance of success can only be increased by so much, and the likelihood that the upgrade will fail cannot be greater than 100%..

The Luck of an item may affect the success of an upgrade. Each item has an initial success rate of 25% and each item with Luck increases the chance of success by five percent.

Note that item upgrades are rendered above the inventory items which means that enchantment glints and other effects may be obscured by them. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
